The "Front Yard"

Jack and I both had today off, so we got up early and worked and worked in the front yard. In Arizona, a front yard, usually refers to a creatively displayed rocky area. Ours is no exception.
The previous owners weren't as creative with their display as I would have liked, so we raked, and shoveled, and rearranged. We'd like to plant some drought friendly flora, but think we'll wait til next spring.

Want to come do my yard next? Looks good. I can't get much to grow in my front yard and was just telling my mom--I'm going to put in some landscape rocks surrounding some plants. We'll see what I can get to grow in the shade in summer and full sun in winter!

Looks very nice Tamara and Jack. I especially like the way you've curved the rock "wall." You should have a wide selection of xeriscape plants available. You might want to consider planting in the fall - allows the roots to become better established before they have to endure the baking summer.

It was great to see your river rock walk in person. What a lot of work to move and arrange all those rocks, but it's beautiful!

It is great! I can imagine some plants growing along the river walk! The yard looks greatly improved!! Hard work and a little too hot to sit in the front and just admire your work.

It really did turn out quite nicely, even if you are extremely sore afterwards. It was fun to be able to see your house last weekend! Keep up the great work!

Hey! when do we get to come over and see your front yard in real life?!? It's about time for a get together, don't you think??
