I saw the deer well in advance, but the problem was there were two of them sauntering toward the road. I thought they were going so slow that I might be able to change lanes and get around them, but by the time I was there, each lane had a deer in it and there was really nothing I could do.
Love the new car! It's a great color and how wonderful to have a hybrid! Everyone hear said, "oohhh," when they heard you had bought a Prius hybrid.
Looks like a good choice. Sorry about the circumstances...thankful that the two of you were not injured.

I know it is rather late to be commenting on this post, but last time I was in San Francisco, the following was on the front page of USA Today: What are the chances of hitting a deer?
It does not report the chances in Arizona...
That is funny. When there is a deer in every lane though, I think your chances of hitting one go up. :-D
